Jackson has started work on a new £10.6m flood risk management scheme to better protect homes and businesses in the town centre of Stoke-on-Trent. An official sod-cutting ceremony was held last Thursday.
The scheme, being constructed on behalf of the Environment Agency.
Jackson has been awarded a place on the Environment Agency’s Asset Operation, Maintenance and Response framework across the South East, East and Midlands hubs.
It complements our long-standing relationship with the EA, providing civil engineering services for its asset base.
Good progress is being made on a project Jackson is overseeing for the Canal & River Trust on the Grand Union Canal near Leicester.
The job involves pumping water out of a short section, and repairing and relining a culvert that runs under the canal.

It is National Apprenticeship Week, so meet Kiran Nolloth who is working towards a bachelor’s degree apprenticeship in Civil Engineering with Jackson. Based at head office in Ipswich, Kiran joined the company last July after studying a diploma in General Engineering.
Last week we marked the start of works to regenerate an industrial zone in Lowestoft for @EastSuffolk.
The Nexus, designed by @Concertus_ , will include 16 commercial units on Newcombe Road.

The upgrade of a section of the New River Path will allow more residents to walk or cycle around the borough of Broxbourne.
