Volunteering to defend Kyiv, lead singer of Boom Box sings old Ukrainian rifleman song in front of St. Michael's monastery in the heart of Kyiv. 1st St. Michael's was built in Middle Ages & was destroyed by Stalin (Putin's🥇) in 30s. Rebuilt after Ukraine independence 1991.👂
Democrats in Virginia are calling on the DOJ to investigate after the state announced that it had mistakenly identified eligible voters as convicted felons and removed them from the voter rolls, just weeks ahead of an election.

A 6-year old boy stabbed 26 times, just for being Muslim, according to detectives.
This is unspeakable.
I pray that love can prevail in these times of so much hate. https://t.co/fkaHZzM0fN
Humans can only survive without water for about 3 days. Gaza has run dry.
The blockade on water, food, and electricity is an indiscriminate, collective punishment and a crime.
It is cruel and unjust. To save millions of people in Gaza - nearly half children - it must end. Now.
The way I see y’all talking about Muslims/Arabs and generalizing Palestinians makes me question what you really think about Black people behind my back.
White nationalism is currently the top security threat in the U.S. (per FBI) and has taken countless lives. White terror has caused heavy loses to Black life over the centuries.
My family has experienced it. People tend to think America has never experienced real terror violence like what we’ve seen outside of our borders. But there are entire Black towns and communities that no longer exist because of white terrorism over the years in the US.
I don’t generalize white people or take the worst of them and use their actions as some excuse to justify feeling hatred for the whole group.
A lot of you who I thought were cool are saying some very racist and nasty things and are revealing that your solidarity is skin deep and never really meant much.
I’ve always tried to be an even-tempered person (and this text is even-tempered), but sometimes you have to call it as you see it.
Thank you to the folks who still support me. A lot of folks are reaching out to say thank you for what you’re doing. A Jewish-Ukrainian from Tel Aviv thank me today for my words and gave me encouragement.
It’s clear to me that the work I’m doing won’t be popular. But it’s needed and necessary.
Many people have unfollowed me and I think it’s for the best. You’re welcome to return anytime, if you’re ready to open your minds.
I’m ready to move on with the following of people I have who want to do the real cross global work of building solidarity.
In this moment, I’m working with Ukrainians, Palestinians, Israelis, Americans, Africans and others who aren’t afraid to challenge all colonialism and call it out—now, not later.
You don’t have to agree with me. If what I say bothers you. You’re free to go without telling me so.
I’m not the airport. You don’t have to make an announcement. 😉
But if you’re ready to see what cross-national solidarity looks like in times like these, join me and be on the right side of history!
I’ll be making announcements about my journalism platform launches this week. I’m building online communities with my journalism that are less contentious than Twitter, though I’ll still be on here being a voice of reason.
Stay tuned.
My Jewish brothers & sisters around the world continue to inspire hope. You are under no obligation to answer for Israeli war crimes, as I am under no obligation to condemn the crimes of a Muslim majority authoritarian regime. Our shared values bring us together to fight both.
I'm very careful to QT this, but it is necessary. And this is for anyone, not just the person in the QT.
We really need to stop asking Arabs and other peoples who support Palestine to denounce terrorists as if it is some sign of allegiance that proves they are not enemies of the state. Neither Rep. Tlaib nor Rep. Omar is under ANY obligation to condemn terrorists.
To say otherwise is xenophobic and it needs to stop!
We don't have the same standard for Israelis when Israel's IDF and armed settlers kill Palestinians like its hunting season.
Rep. Omar and Rep. Tlaib are not responsible for Hamas' terrorism anymore than any common white person should feel obliged to condemn white supremacists every time they target Jews, Black folks and other minorities.
No one puts white congressmen and women through this ritual of insisting they condemn white supremacists each time one of them kills someone.
Only POC are asked to speak for our entire group of people. I, for one, will not participate in it and neither should any Muslim or anyone who supports Palestine.
If you don't like their politics, then say so. But they are held to a bar that one of their colleagues are held to and I am calling that shit out.
Sobering—Physician and the former dean of the medical school in Gaza was killed, along with his wife, his physician daughter, and grandchildren. 3 generations. All wiped out instantly. Senseless. An eye for an eye makes us all blind & doctorless.
Saying innocent Palestinians shouldn’t be murdered and starved is NOT pro hamas.
I agree with the United Nations forcing people to leave their homes in 24-hours and starving them is a humanitarian crisis.
My beloved Jews & allies in the fight against antisemitism- in this moment of profound grief & terror we can't take our eyes off the unprecedented, horrific genocide the Israeli government is unleashing upon Gaza. I don't say 'genocide' lightly- we can't let this happen
Last week, the equivalent of seven Boeing 737 plane crashes killing all on board died of C0VlD in the U.S.
If seven jet airliners crashed last week, would the news cover it?
What about if seven jet airliners crashed every week?
Republicans’ temporary speaker, Patrick McHenry, received 90 percent of his campaign cash this year from lobbyists and industries he regulates — and only $856 from small donors.

GOP megadonor Charles Koch transferred more than $5 billion to two secretive nonprofits in his political network.
The organizations can use the fortune for lobbying, without Koch having to pay taxes, thanks to a loophole he advocated for.
This is what oligarchy looks like.
"Israel has a right to self-defence, but it has to be done within international law ... cutting water, cutting electricity, cutting food to a mass of civilian people is against international law."

The likely GOP candidate for president is calling for people to attack members of the opposing political party - calling for Americans to attack other American citizens:
NEW: The #COVID19Colorado dashboard will undergo another update later today, to "highlight leading indicators of disease trends and severity, such as hospitalizations, deaths, variants, syndromic surveillance, and wastewater."
These are the changes that are coming. 🧵
🧵My latest: Inequality becomes entrenched with each new booster rollout. Gone are the days of intensive vaccine campaigns.
“Urging people to get boosters has really only worked for Democrats, college graduates, and people making over $90,000 a year,” says @gregggonsalves
One of the issues is that many people think of diseases mainly in terms of their own risk of bad outcomes being low. That works for noncommunicable diseases.
But for contagious respiratory viruses with high incidence, you multiply that low risk across hundreds of millions and end up with a big absolute number of bad outcomes
