.@MichelleHinchey's #STR Registry Bill passed the NY Senate this week. What a way to misunderstand zoning and land use in NY. Vacation rentals aren't the problem. #NIMBYs are. Homeowners are entitled to rent and use their homes as they see fit.

Senator Hinchey's #STR Registry Act looks at New York and says "the problem is we don't have enough taxes" as people flee the state in search of friendly tax and regulatory environments. We don't need more burdens on property owners.

This week the NY Senate passed the Short Term Rental Registry Act. Not only does this bill misunderstand who owns and operates so-called #STRs, it creates unnecessary burdens on individuals who are only trying to access the #equity in their homes.
