Keeping girls in school is one of the most powerful ways to prevent and end child marriage.
We officially kicked off the Girls’ Champion Training under the Strengthening Systems and Communities to End Child Marriage Project, in Kaduna State. Alongside @onelifeng@csacefa@EVA_Nigeria funded by @MalalaFund
The sessions focused on defining child marriage, identifying its root causes, and examining the consequences it has on the lives and futures of girls. Participants also explored the role and responsibilities of Girl Champions in advocacy and campaigns to end child marriage, while building their understanding of advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and community mobilization.
Yesterday, alongside Education as a Vaccine @EVA_Nigeria, Onelife Initiative @onelifeng, and CSACEFA @csacefa, we concluded the Girls’ Champion Training under the Strengthening Systems and Communities to End Child Marriage Project.
The second day of the training was deeply practical and action-oriented. The girls developed their six-month advocacy work plans, identifying key stakeholders within their communities, and mapping out the barriers and challenges that could affect their efforts to advocate against child marriage.

Not everything you see online about sex and reproductive health is true, complete or accurate… and honestly, that is a BIG problem especially for our young people.
We just wrapped up a 2-day training with social media influencers and content creator,
Our partners @raes on the Lets talk project will be excited to hear that our social media influencers are armed with accurate information that will reach thousands of young people.
Yesterday, alongside other members of the Malala Education Champion Network, we kicked off a 2-day Technical Workshop to finalize the Oyo State Gender-Responsive Education Sector Plan (GRESP).
This workshop brings together stakeholders from the Oyo State Ministry of Education and key actors across the education sector to review and validate the newly developed plan.
This marks an important step toward building a more inclusive and responsive education system in Oyo State, where both girls and boys have the opportunity to thrive.

Policemen from Apata Police Station in Oyo State assaulted staff of Onelife Initiative for Human Development, a youth-focused NGO, on Tuesday.
Yemisi Opalola, the divisional police officer of the station, blamed the victims of the abuse for filming the policemen instead.👇🏾
In Nigeria, 1 in 3 girls is married before 18. In the northeast & northwest, it's over 50%.
Amina pushed back against family pressure to marry — but millions of girls don't get that choice.
This is a policy problem with a proven solution: education.
When girls complete secondary school, marriage is delayed by years. That's why we're backing a youth-led coalition pushing governments to implement policies that keep girls learning.
