@MusingsOnChrist Brent how does it contradict in your estimate and do you think dispensational theology was the context. Given the the times I'm guessing this is a new application and an oversimplified gloss of classic dispensational theology
@FreelandChris@AdamGreenway Thanks for clarifying. The misrepresented dispensational understanding and it being inconsistent with BFM is difficult to fathom.
@TomBuck@_JayAdkins So if a female evangelist spoke at church from the pulpit would that be in line or out of line with the current bfm interpretation? I am honestly wanting to understand how the current view is fleshed out. Would the evangelist be exerting authority?
@Brent_Hobbs@AdrianRogers would have Bertha Smith teach from the pulpit, something the @CBMWorg would deem unbiblical even though not ordained or labeled pastor. They won't be satisfied until your interpretation and practice aligns with theirs.
Last year at #SBC22, I moved what the SBC Credentials Committee deemed a friendly amendment to forestall any action against @Saddleback until the Convention could more precisely determine/define how "closely identified" w/the BFM a cooperating church's faith/practice must be. 1/
