@FromMahmou82797@freddiesayers@Econoclasts@unherd I don't know, he was denied entry because of his speech. He was going to speak at Oxford, at SXSW, at UnHerd, and elsewhere. The government did not want him to publicly express his opinions, hence free speech.
@termlimits4USA@freddiesayers@ggreenwald@Econoclasts@unherd Hasan cleared this with OFAC months in advance and followed the U.S. government's directions to avoid patronizing any sanctioned business (ironically unlike Nick Shirley, who violated the law by staying at a sanctioned hotel).
@termlimits4USA@freddiesayers@ggreenwald@Econoclasts@unherd How did he "conspire" with Cuba? He joined 600 people on a humanitarian and journalistic mission for two days, bringing solar panels, medical equipment, and other aid to people who are desperately poor and without oil. You've just been lied to, my dude.
@FromMahmou82797@freddiesayers@Econoclasts@unherd He wasn't "deplatformed," his visa was revoked and he was banned from entering the country by its home office. It's not a private entity that refused him, it's the government, thus it's a free speech issue. If you don't support free speech, just say it, don't pussyfoot around.
@Yo123Young@freddiesayers@ggreenwald@Econoclasts@unherd What are you talking about? He and his uncle were banned for so-called "antisemitism," despite being passionate allies of Jewish people everywhere who are calling for an end to apartheid. He hasn't broken any law. He's a free dude.
@teammagakim@Chicago1Ray@sherism57970161 Separation of powers. You literally just want to live in a fascist dictatorship run by Trump and the ghost of Jeffrey Epstein, not a democracy.
