@owenbroadcast Forgetting to protect against one thing which then kills the character is a fairy tale trope. The one most familiar to Tolkien is likely the death of Baldur. He dreamt he was going to be killed, so every material and every plant that grows from the soil promised to not hurt him.

@QazzjJones @DickDelingpole Do this, but just use the bread maker to mix, kneed & first rise. Then take the dough out. Onto a baking tray or bread tin. Rise again and bake in a hot oven.
The baking stage in a bread maker never makes as good a loaf as a hot oven.
