Despite what they may claim, landlords are not benevolent “providers of housing” yielding only a meager profit for all the work they do: ignoring calls for repairs, painting over roaches, and stealing your security deposit.
While the state may proclaim itself to be a neutral party, standing above landlords and the masses, mediating their conflicts; the fact that landlords' robbery of tenants is seen as a natural right dispels any notion that the state is neutral.
