@DanNeidle Is it possible that HMRC did see her as careless but reduced the penalty to nil given her disclosure and cooperation? If so then Rayner's spin that she has been found not careless by HMRC could be questioned?
@Rangersnomore@itvpeston@YouGov Well he didn't lie to the House and he did wish everyone a Happy St George's day (on this platform and elsewhere) and giving a straight answer (and what a straight question is) are subjective but apart from that I can see your point.......
@CarolineLucas Jesus, how far have you fallen @CarolineLucas if you are coming out with this guff? Or is this the standard now required in Zak's brave new world?
@krishgm There is evidence on paper that showed Mandelson had failed security vetting but Robbins confirmed he had not seen that, relying on a chat with another Sir Humphrey to establish whether Mandelson was cleared. Robbins' failure to see or ask about that document is a key issue here
@BethRigby The pressure was to get the process done in time to get Mandelson into post ahead of Trumps mob taking over. The pressure was not to ensure the process came to an approval. Robbins confirmed that the process was independent. Stop conflating these issues!
@Peston@PeterStefanovi2 No one seems to have spotted that there was a document saying Mandelson should be denied clearance which Robbins failed, on his own admission, to see or ask about. Rather he relied on a Sir Humphrey chat with one of his friends which suggested the decision was tight.
@PippaCrerar Hoyle gets a tip off that Mandelson is about to do a runner. He informs the Met who arrest Mandelson. Badenoch says the arrest is a defining moment of Starmer's premiership.
But Badenoch doesn't mention Mandelson at all at PMQs. Is this a Tory black ops attempt gone wrong?
@parissolemn@TheGreenParty@CarolineLucas With respect, your view of objective reality is tainted. "Polls" are a reference to an unballanced small sample poll done by a Green supporter. Bookies odds are based on bets not votes. I see you quote Reform internal data, which suggests you might be a Reform mole?
@parissolemn@TheGreenParty@CarolineLucas The last thing I want to do is for Reform to win. The false claims by the Greens are increasing the chances of that. Runcorn shows what happens when the anti Reform vote splits. The Greens have blitzed social media with dodgy polls and claims which dont stand up. So disappointing
