Finally a paper on Carnivore diet effect on the microbiome. Excellent. And to the surprise of no one paying attention, no significant effect on “diversity”.

But they missed an opportunity to observe something possibly important here.

Metabolic modules associate with outcomes *in the context they were found*. When you discover, as others have, that the microbiome changes swiftly and dramatically in response to major dietary changes, it strongly suggests that “functional modules” may also function differently.
