And today, permits me to say that Burna Boy is one of the most educated and intellectually aware musicians to come out of Africa. And by “Educated,” I’m not necessarily talking about academic qualifications or degrees. I’m talking about his level of awareness, his understanding

I understand his confidence, his nonchalance, and even some of the arrogance people criticize him for. I’m not saying everything he does or says is right, but I feel there’s a certain level of self-awareness behind it.

You may not like his personality, his delivery, or even

comes with knowing your worth. But I also think Burna is a very self-aware nigga, and that self-awareness is part of what makes him who he is.

And I do like his personality. I do. Because I know, and I feel, that there’s a lot behind it that people don’t always understand.
