I'm holding back tears while reading this long repo from a C hongjanggu.

"Today, Seunghan’s schedule started with a pre-recording at 6AM and a fansign at 6PM. I attended both with a few other Hongjanggus.

It might seem like there's time to rest in between, but with all the travel and little unexpected things, there was barely any time to sleep. And if fans are this exhausted, Seunghan, as the idol, must have had to prepare even more. He does so much on his own and clearly carries a lot of pressure.

At the pre-recording, he didn’t say much. He danced with so much energy, but after each take, he left out of breath, jogging off stage right away. You could tell he was really tired.

During the fansign, I stood in front of him as he sat and listened to me talk. He looked so thin like his body was swaying inside his clothes. This time, there was no Kyo and Yul by his side. Unlike the showcase, the atmosphere felt very different. It was just him, all alone. It felt lonely.

Then I saw people online saying things like, “Why even give a solo to someone with only 400 likes on Melon?” or calling him “a flop” or “not worth investing in.” It really hurt.

But Seunghan isn’t doing all this for numbers or clout. After the fansign, a few of us Hongjanggus had dinner together. We talked about how much money a fansign could bring in and even after calculating, it’s maybe 5–6 million KRW per event. That’s about how much he spent on the yogurt cups he gave back to fans.

Doing this solo, he’s not just physically exhausted, he’s under so much emotional pressure too. He’s gotten so skinny, but he’s still pushing forward, because he just wants to see his fans more. It’s been two years. He never even tried to earn any money out of this.

I often think. When you’re really tired, you start to question yourself “Is this worth it?” When you have a team, at least there’s someone to cheer you on. But now, Seunghan is doing all this alone, holding himself up, pushing forward again and again.

To me, he’s already incredibly strong. His willpower is admirable.

Tomorrow, August 3rd, he has two more early-morning pre-recordings. On the 4th, I’ll head back to Australia for my exams, but Seunghan still has festivals, SMTOWN, fansigns, video calls… so many things. He must be so tired but I know he doesn’t regret any of it.

Saying “hard work guarantees success” might sound arrogant, but after seeing him with my own eyes, I truly, truly pray that the world will be kind this time.

Please, just this once! Let Seunghan receive even a little bit of the love and reward he deserves. He’s working so hard. He deserves so many good things.
