@misterlaserinko@CCMMSRedwolves We love culturally relevant content! The balancing act of teaching is real and I definitely felt that when teaching my own lesson. The visuals are also super fun!
@MOllio_teach@CCMMSRedwolves@NCSU_CEDTandD The presentation looks awesome! I like how you guys had the students sharing their figurative language ideas collaboratively.
@Mr_Umbarger@CCMMSRedwolves@NCStateCED Hey, I was a part of this project! It was fun working with you Elliot as well as Mary Kate. What do you think went best with our lesson and what do you think didn't go well? I personally think our biggest strength was our ability to improvise throughout the lesson when needed.
@deutschmitsonia@CCMMSRedwolves@NCStateCED I felt that with confidence within the classroom and I'm glad you were able to build it up some with this experience. While you taught a lesson about English, would you say there were any connections between this lesson and teaching German lessons in the future?
@NCSUbailey What a fun lesson! I can see in the image that it looks like students are engaged and are working collaboratively in groups which is awesome. Did you guys talk about education needed in order to get into different careers within robotics?
We had the students make a paper airplane without the design process at first, then gave them context of the Design Process through our lesson. Our launch fostered competition between students, which encouraged them to build a better airplane than their peers.
@mslynch_teach Yes! I almost posted this quote for my Twitter post. Our students should be valued for more than their test scores and our curricula should reflect that. #ED204
@Charlton_Tech I also think of my favorite teachers when I look back on school life, and they all got to know me on a personal level. Getting to know your students' matters!
We donโt know exactly everything going on in their personal lives, and so we have to give grace and be respectful despite when things may seem personally disrespectful towards us teachers (ie being tardy or sleeping during class). #ED204
Currently reading "Becoming a Teacher" by Melinda D. Anderson in ED 204. One quote I resonate with is when Ms. Hall, the teacher interviewed in "Becoming a Teacher", says we have to be compassionate to the students coming into our classrooms. #ED204
I know that teaching isnโt an exact science, but how do we handle receiving conflicting advice and selecting what principles we should use in our classrooms? #ED204
Question for teachers: Some of my education classes give conflicting teaching advice. For example, in one class I was told that decorating your classroom helps to make it a more inclusive space, while another said that decorations tend to be distracting. #ED204
