It promised to power 40% of the campus, save big on energy costs, and run with minimal maintenance for decades. But like many renewable energy schemes, it turned into a costly disaster.

Fast forward to today, and the solar field is a neglected weed patch. Output plummeted by 2017, maintenance bills soared, and the installer, SunPower, went bankrupt, leaving no support or warranty. The system failed due to overhyped lifespans, unreliable technology, corporate churn, and shifting regulations that made fixes impractical.

Now, removing the dead system could cost another $1 million, with no easy way to recover losses. This isn't just a local flop—it's a prime example of how green energy hype often leads to abandoned projects and wasted taxpayer dollars. Energy consultants pushed unproven tech, and politicians chased trends without planning for the long haul.

The real lesson? Solar dreams sound great at ribbon-cuttings, but they can rust away fast, leaving communities holding the bag. Taxpayers, beware: demand real data, not fairy tales.

My feeling is that now it is "safe" to release the info that Epstein was really a sex trafficker as a side gig and was mainly an intelligence asset of Israel and the US, a big-time financial criminal on behalf of transnational capital (i would argue transnational organized crime disguised as transnational capital), and an arms trader because the people he was helping have stolen so much of America's wealth and have taken control over so much of the government.

That is why even admitting the true breadth of the scandal and operation doesn't even seem to move the needle. Criminals are in charge and they run both parties, they have created the infrastructure for neo-feudalism enforced by technology and are herding us into the corral.
