@JerusalemDemsas While I enjoy both writers, do they worry that their centering of the NIMBY left is warped by their online presence? It seems to me that most on-the-ground NIMBYs are typically of no particular ideological shade, just narrowly self-interested. Might this focus hurt K/T's message?

@Todd_Toddleston @ettingermentum I don't think my opinion is distasteful at all: I think everyone agrees that there are things worth going to war for, and thus that there are things for which it is worth supporting someone else's fight.

He's (probably) not even paid by the Kremlin, he just repeats the Kremlin's POV for the love of the game.

@ettingermentum (...) those geopolitical goals in the hopes of temporarily stemming the far-right's surge. He's not trying to say "wow, the far-right weaponizes the cost of living," he's saying "wow, better stop trying to hinder Russian imperialism so that the far-right wins fewer elections."

@ettingermentum Come on, man, this is Ames. Aside from the sex tourism/assault/generally being among the skeeviest men alive, he has clear ulterior motives. He knows Russia backs the far-right to further their geopolitical goals: he's hoping the West abandons any attempts at hindering (...)

c) Also, nearly 50% of the country voted for the guy. He won a plurality of the vote. He *does* represent people.
