@agenderfox There are absolutely other options and this an open conversation. I've used m'mispacha (from the family of) and mbeit myself. Magically I found myself drawn to mzroah (from the seed of). I default to mbeit for ease of spelling, but your name should feel comfortable for you.
Moved to the affidavit stage of my EEO complaint. I was given the customary 15 days to complete it. Final document length: 165 pages, 56,337 words, & 189 (out of 263) docs referenced.
Thanks to @NaNoWriMo training I survived. Now waiting to see if that absurd task yields results
There’s no quick fix. It might be tempting to force vaccines in peoples arms, or lock them up for refusing, but that only makes it worse. Changing society takes time and, crucially, transformative political and social movements. Not knee jerk reactions in frustration and anger.
REMINDER: A landlord losing money on an investment is not equivalent to a tenant losing their home due to an eviction, especially during a pandemic. One is loss of profit, another is potential loss of life. Do not conflate these phenomena. #EndEvictions
I was made fun by two staff members at the hospital for my nonbinary identity. They called me a ‘they/them special’ and just thought that I think I’m better than everyone else. They also said I was faking it and laughed amongst each other. Patients aren’t faking it!
I'm so proud of my comrades @KCTenants. Especially @Je_Nay. She is amazing, passionate, smart, empathic and just an all around dope person. She makes us all better.

A better world is not only possible, she is on her way. On a rainy day, you can hear her rumbling, waiting to be born.
Tenant Reckoning is still happening tomorrow, noon, 16th and Jackson. See you there.
It doesn’t make sense to have harsher penalties for people who assault or kill police officers if there aren’t also harsher penalties for police who assault or kill people.
As of today we’re hearing the White House may extend the moratorium by a month.
That’s good, but no amount of kicking the can down the road is gonna make our people whole. Every eviction is an act of violence.
@BarcellonaR The ability to speak over others is about far more than # of followers. It also includes how closely aligned the message is with systems of domination and access to offline support. Shifting from decolonization to ableism obscures how ableism is one tiny part of colonization.
@BarcellonaR@lilririah What you post on your page has an impact on the community as a whole. Black and POC autistics are being driven out of autistic spaces on a regular basis due to systemic racism. This reframe undermines the work of decolonization, and contributes to ongoing discrimination.
@RebbeSMZ My concern about that model is the "now we are happy". It's important to show that emotions don't always go away with an apology. Even after an apology someone can still be upset or want to avoid you. Due to my disabilities I hate the pressure to appear ok when I don't feel it.
@shantilly_t Pushing for perpetrators to be forgiven without acknowledging the harm isn't even centering the perpetrator. It's centering peoples' desire to make harm disappear with engaging or healing it. Centering the perpetrator involves allocating resources for accessible accountability.
