An ever shifting feast of diversions is constantly paraded before us; each grabs our minds & hearts, injects their poison and disappear quickly.
We forget the outrage and move on, but the damage remains.
We quickly forget that which briefly consumed us because the next distraction is oh so attractive.
In the end, we become hollowed out men and women, feeling shallow and quick things, jumping from distraction to distraction.
We’ve volunteered for this, Lord & we are so very sorry.
Rewire us, Heavenly Father.
Gently rewire us to focus on the true, the beautiful, the good, the eternal.
Strengthen our resolve to be distracted by nothing but thoughts of love and truth.
Only one tribe is eternal and that tribe is Yours, Lord. Never let me leave it.
Amen

Eric McCoy, 70, is charged with slashing a 68-year-old woman's face at the Sheepshead Bay subway station in Brooklyn Saturday morning.

▪️ Police and the complaint say he held a knife to her cheek and asked, "Do you want more?"
▪️ Then he allegedly cut her face during an argument at an emergency-exit door.
▪️ He's charged with felony assault with a weapon, which carries up to 7 years and is bail-eligible.
▪️ The judge released him anyway, with nothing but an order of protection, until January.

🔴 NYC subway felony assaults are up 12% this year, per NYPD data.
