I’ve seen a lot of conversations around @Aluta_ke
app lately, and I genuinely love what they’re building for Kenyan entertainment. It got me curious about what their brand could look and feel like.
Here’s how I envision Aluta, starting with the brand Identity.
@mbiti_mwondi
I think its time to tell our story. We built a tech company in Nyamarambe, Kenya, in a place where nothing like it had existed before. We made personal sacrifices to keep it alive, convinced more than 30 people from different parts of Kenya to come here, and along the way found ourselves solving problems we never thought a tech company would have to solve
We’ve watched the area around us slowly begin to change too. There’s a much bigger story here than I can fit in a single tweet.
I’m looking for journalists, podcasters, documentary makers and other media people who would be interested in telling it. If that’s you, or you know someone who should hear this story, please reach out.
One of the greatest viruses of the modern man is looking at Instagram Stories. You will melt your brain looking at a barrage of outcomes—like vacations, parties, cars—with no visibility of the process that got them there.
Nairobi naskia kuna Spider-Man thieves, last night someone broke into our apartment in Kilimani area and stole from houses on 6th and 7th floors, entered through the kitchen balcony and did the thing, one had even out a mesh grill and they managed to cut them down. They went in and stole while people were in the house and left,we’re all wondering how people are able to do these things without being caught or heard and even more conveniently the CCTV cameras around those houses were not working.
If you don’t believe in uchawi shauri yako that shit exists. Inakaa kama movie how did they get huko to 6th and 7th floor fr the back side of the apartment!
This weekend I told someone that I am stingy because as an employee, I need maximum saving in order to fund my post employment plans.
The talking stage is over.
Maybe it’s me, but this concept of a man must send me money only works for rich men. Not me.
AI agents can write code many times faster than a human. What this means is that you, the programmer, have a large amount of time to use those agents to write unit tests, to write acceptance, tests, to write property tests, to torture test, to mutate test, to QA test, and to otherwise ensure that the code meets its functional and quality requirements. And even after spending all that time, you will still be many times more productive than a human programmer, and the result will be better.
I’m significantly older than you. I started coding in the late 60s. My current strategy is to not read any of the code written by my agents. That’s the only way I can take advantage of their productivity. What I do instead is to surround the agents with extreme constraints. Unit tests, gherkin tests, QA procedures, quality metrics, mutation testing, test coverage, and a plethora of others. In the end, I have very high confidence in the code they produce because they’ve had to run the gauntlet of all of my constraints and tests.
we're launching BUZZ!
a new groupchat platform for teams of people and agents of all sizes, built to reduce our dependency on slack and github. model-agnostic, decentralized, self-sovereign, and open source. 🐝

I have recently been accepted into the @GoogleDevExpert (GDE) Program as a GDE for Google Cloud under the Category , Cloud AI.
The Google Developer Experts Program is a way Google recognizes and supports professionals who have deep knowledge in a certain technology and are using it to actively support help their communities by sharing their experience, and providing valuable feedback to Google.
My career has been intertwined between Cloud and AI technologies since the beginning and I feel incredibly proud and honored to now be part of the folks that Google recognizes as experts in that field.
It has always made me happier and given me a stronger sense of purpose to innovate, teach and share in and with the community rather than just for it and now I get to even do even more 🚀🚀.
From Leading the @gdgkabarakuni where we hosted the first ever Google I/O Extended Student Edition then supported by @DijaAbdul , then the Google Crowdsource Chapter still Kabarak University then supported by @TabithaKavyu & @verma_aish . Just checked and I’m still featured on the Crowdsource Community Page(https://t.co/lXOJfIYIYB) 😂.
Then to now Leading the @GDG_Nairobi and supporting the @GDG_Pwani Community where we are bringing together amazing developers to Learn , Build and Grow. And serving as the Regional Exceutor for @blackpythondevs in East Africa. Not forgetting all the amazing Python, Django and Open Source Communities and conferences I have been part of and will always be part of.
A huge thanks to the @_jkimani , @DeniseAllela ,@Geektutor , @janise_tan ,@boredabdel and the team for the seamless application process and the tremendous support and mentorship Pius Kevin Mafabi offered all throughout the application process.
More to come 🌱💙
Building real-time communication infrastructure is difficult because it requires orchestrating low-latency media streams, secure network overlays, and high-concurrency state across highly fragmented environments
