What is a systemtic review and how to get started on one:
Before we get started on a systematic review, we need to understand a couple of points, the first one being the difference between primary research and secondary research.
Primary research involves collecting new data. Experiments, trials, case studies, and interviews are a few examples of primary research.
How to figure out if a text is AI-generated without any apps (and with a bit of common sense):
1. Words:
By now, everyone knows that ChatGPT overuses words like delve, intricate, realm, and tapestry. If these words appear frequently in a text, chances are it's AI-generated.
2. Sentence Structure:
For some reason, AI overuses participial phrases, especially present participial phrases.
[Quick grammar lesson
A participle is a word formed using a verb (cry, burn), but used as an adjective (crying baby, burning wood).
A participial phrase is a group of words that modify a noun. These phrases provide extra information about a noun.
Example:
He sat by the fire, looking out the window.
She entered the room, smiling brightly.
Here the part of the sentence after the comma is a participial phrase.
AI uses present participial phrases quite frequently. These phrases start with a word that ends with -ing, like "looking" and "smiling" in the examples above.]
AI-generated texts will have several sentences containing present participial phrases (sometimes one in each paragraph).
3. Perfect Structure
AI-generated texts will have a perfect structure: a perfectly written introduction and a perfectly written conclusion with clear rhetorical signposts like "In conclusion" etc.
Every paragraph will have a perfect topic sentence. Between paragraphs, you will see, perfect transition sentences.
It's not that a human can't produce a perfectly structured piece of writing. It's just that it takes several drafts to polish the structure. If a student turns in a pefectly structured piece of writing in a short span of time, chances are the text is AI-generated.
4. Perfect Punctuation
AI-generated texts will have perfect punctuation and a bunch of em dashes (—) thrown in.
None of these features alone mean that a text is AI-generated. For example, if a text contains several em dashes, it doesn't automatically mean it's AI-generated.
But if a text contains pefectly structured paragraphs with sentence containing words like delve/intricate with participial phrases, chances are it's AI-generated.
If you use ChatGPT, you can customize it, so it doesn't use words like delve/intricate and avoids overusing participial phrases. You can also ask it not to write pefect topic/transition sentences and muddle up the punctuation. Always reword/rephrase whatever text AI gives you.
If you're a student who want to use AI to avoid learning how to write, you are putting yourself at a disadvantage. Writing helps you clarify your thought processes and articulate your ideas precisely. You want to be able to do that.

And that day, the real story will drop.
The one she can’t walk away from.

Everybody has a price.
But they forgot one thing.
Some of us are too broke to sell our souls.
