@kabongodan99@mattrett@TDotResident@USA_Polling I don't think you understand, the playbook is presenting a shitty candidate because you're sure you'll win, and on the other side having a loud asshole you boost because you perceive them as a guaranteed loser
@TempleOSAdmn@xxi_jacee you massively underestimate how hard it is. first you gotta go to all the dropboxes (just LA has over 400), then you need to bring them somewhere to have the signatures verified, and only once they're verified can the envelope be opened and the ballot sent for tabulation
@chriswithans the bottleneck isn't late arriving mail in ballots, it's ballots dropped off at ballot boxes, which cannot be touched until after election day for rather obvious security reasons. mail-in and in person votes get processed as they come in but these can't be
@TempleOSAdmn@xxi_jacee you don't even know anything about how voting in California works. the vast majority of "mail-in" votes are put into ballot boxes directly, and those ballot boxes can't be opened until after the election to maintain a chain of custody.
@JEAlexander@evriley@gaganbiyani we do NOT count them (neither do other states, for security reasons) but we do process them and prepare them to be tabulated as they arrive
most of the "mail-in" votes are ballot drop-box votes and those can't be touched until after the election which is the actual bottleneck
@gaganbiyani it's because of how californians vote, nearly 50% of voters use ballot drop boxes which can't be opened until after the election to maintain a chain of custody. in comparison to that volume late mail in votes are a rounding error
bro you give your whole life to a political campaign when you do one.
either you get fucking emotional about it or you're a fucking psychopath.
I'm sick of being human being disqualifying for politics, or anything for that matter. it's everything that's wrong with everything.
Nithya Raman walked out to her campaign funeral in literal tears last night
She can't hide her disappointment at the red wave that showed out in LA Mayoral race
Angelenos are taking their city back from the grip of incompetence.
@huhsuspended1@killaxxxcam no, florida is faster because florida voters vote early in person, making up the vast majority of their votes. the same amount of people use ballot drop boxes in cali, and those drop boxes can't even be opened until the election is over. it's just simple math.
@PerunistG@electionsjoe every single ballot needs to be verified by a human comparing against the signature on the envelope, and only then can it move on to actually being counted.
