Travis Kalanick: “I was running a $70 billion company the way somebody who thought he was going to starve next week would run it."
"Every decision I made at Uber, I defend to this day. Never had chalk on my shoe.“
“The problem was I ran too close to the line in too many situations. When you're big and important, the scrutiny and expectation is that you don't run that close to the line, even if it's correct. That is a thing I definitely did not understand.”
“It comes from what I did before Uber. First four years, no salary, ran out of money several times, super grind, lose all friends. The non-luckiest entrepreneur journey of all time.”
“It was so hard that I had to be epically precise and hardcore just to pay the bills and go to the grocery store next week. And that precision and intensity made Uber what it was.”
@anku_chahar Maybe there is no ‘for what’.
Some people stay because walking away would mean betraying what they loved, what they lost, and what they still believe in.
If you look closely, the truly happy people in their later years who hold their heads high, live in peace, are proud of life and are really confident are those who loved madly, stayed loyal, put ethics above self-gain, forgave people, took risks and did what they believed.
Liars, fakes and selfish people may make it big. But all spend their lives with fear, regret and jealousy.
What a blessing it’d be to understand this at a young age.

Dear Sonia Gandhi,
You don’t know me, and I am not writing this to a politician. I am writing this simply to a woman whom I have adored for as long as I can remember. You carry a quiet grace and elegance that any woman would wish for.
People have been so harsh on you for decades, and even today when you are 79, they refuse to spare you. You left your country, your roots and your family behind. But I often wonder, for what? To be humiliated by people who seem to have no kindness or sympathy left in their hearts?
We all have our limitations. We all have a breaking point. You lost the love of your life, yet a part of this society refused to accept you. They called you things so ugly that an ordinary human mind can not even fathom. How do you remain so patient? Where do you find that strength? You had every choice to walk away, to live a peaceful life away from all this noise. Why did you choose to stay?
Do those bitter words still hurt you in silence? Or have you been wounded so deeply that the pain has simply stopped affecting you?
Yet, deep down, I feel one thing for sure that if you could go back in time, knowing every tear and every cruelty that awaited you, you would still choose to be the Sonia Gandhi you are today. But why?
How did you endure so much? And more than that, why?
Is it difficult to be a woman in this world? A woman in politics? A widow in politics? A widow standing at the center of Indian politics? Would this journey have been a little easier if the love of your life was still walking beside you today? Do you miss him in excruciating moments? Or do you hear something insulting about yourself before you can have the time to miss him?
My questions never seem to end. How did you endure it all? And in the end, for what?
closing in DMs is by far the thing that made me the most money in my business...
the goal is to lead the conversation like a human, but with clear intent.
i broke down how to turn your DMs into a predictable sales system:
-how to open with curiosity, not desperation
-the exact 3-message sequence that moves people
-mistakes that kill conversions instantly (and how to fix them)
like, rt & comment “DM” and i’ll send you the doc
(must follow so i can dm you)
