🚨 HISTORIC KAMPALA GARAGE SOLD FOR 18 BILLION SHILLINGS

The iconic garage located on Dewinton Road in Kampala, established in 1927, has reportedly been sold for approximately 18 billion Ugandan shillings. The property, long associated with the Mpanga family, was once operated as one of Uganda’s earliest Toyota dealerships under local ownership.

The late Yafesi Walusimbi Mpanga, who served as mayor of Kampala, developed the site into a prominent automotive business. It remained in the family’s hands for decades following his passing.

According to local reports, the buyer is former Speaker of Parliament Anita Among, though this has yet to be officially confirmed by either party. The prime location right in the heart of the city, on about one acre of land opposite Spear House in the central business district, could be the primary driver of the property’s substantial value.

Given the property’s rich history since 1927 and its prime location in central Kampala, is the 18 billion shillings price purely driven by the land, or could there be other factors involved???

5: He is among the individuals who are part of the corruption empire in Parliament, which must be uprooted. Ugandans deserve transparent, accountable, and patriotic leaders who put the interests of the country first.

Today, while travelling from Arua to Kampala aboard a YY bus registration UAZ 701X, the situation became unbearable upon reaching Nebbi. The bus crew continued adding passengers into the corridors, while others boarded carrying chickens and ducks, making it difficult for passengers to even breathe comfortably.

I decided to call the Police Traffic Emergency number 0800199099. By the time we reached Pakwach Bridge, traffic officers had already impounded the bus, issued the driver an EPS ticket for excess passengers, and removed the overcrowding.

Yes, we have lost some time on the journey, but it is far better to arrive late than to risk lives by travelling in unsafe conditions, exhausted and unwell.

Road safety is everyone’s responsibility. Let us value life over recklessness.

🇿🇦 A cash-in-transit heist turned deadly in Bushbuckridge, Mpumalanga, after a suspect forced open the van door and stabbed the driver.

A security guard shot the attacker dead, while the wounded driver ran over the suspect twice during the chaos.

The driver was left critically injured and taken to hospital. Police are searching for a second suspect who fled.
