Pep Guardiola knew Donnarumma is not good with his feet but still signed him. Do you know why?

Because last season he had Bernardo Silva dropping deep to take the ball from him and help us play out from the back. We could literally build up comfortably.

Fast forward to now, Bernardo is gone and we've not been able to play from the back. Donnarumma is constantly going long to Haaland and we lose the second ball every time.

Maresca is the one suffering this system now. He wants to play from the back but he doesn't have the profile to do it. No Bernardo to help, Rodri is out, and Donnarumma is not Ederson.

I genuinely don’t understand this obsession with playing players out of position. Most of these players were doing well at their previous clubs in specific roles, and that’s what attracted us to them in the first place. So why bring them here and play them in completely different positions?

Take Anderson, for instance. He’s not a natural No. 6. At Forest, we saw him making runs into the box, linking up play and scoring important goals. Yesterday, our supposed No. 6, Ayyoub Bouaddi, was pressing high up the pitch like a central striker.
