Thursday, 4 June 2026, the Oman Energy Association (OPAL), in collaboration with Occidental Oman, conducted an Incident Management Standard Review Workshop hosted at Occidental Oman’s Head Office. The workshop brought together subject matter experts and specialists from across the energy sector to review and finalize the updated version of the Incident Management Standard in preparation for its planned issuance in the third quarter of 2026.

الخميس 4 يونيو 2026 – نظّمت الجمعية العُمانية للطاقة (أوبال)، بالتعاون مع شركة أوكسيدنتال عُمان، ورشة عمل لمراجعة معيار إدارة الحوادث، بمشاركة نخبة من الخبراء والمختصين من الشركات المشغلة في قطاع الطاقة، بهدف مراجعة واستكمال النسخة المحدّثة، استعداداً لإصدارها خلال الربع الثالث من عام 2026.

Wednesday, 3 June 2026 – The Vocational Education Team at the Oman Energy Association (OPAL) participated in a seminar titled “Vocational and Technical Education Pathways: Future Horizons and Empowerment Opportunities,” organized by the Directorate General of Education in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate and attended by parents of Grade 10 and Grade 11 students.

During the seminar, the team highlighted the strategic importance of vocational and technical education, with a particular focus on engineering and industrial disciplines and the promising academic and career opportunities they offer. The team also outlined the educational and training pathways available to students and their role in developing skills and guiding students’ interests toward specialized fields that align with labor market needs, contributing to the development of a qualified national workforce capable of supporting key strategic sectors.

الأربعاء، 3 يونيو 2026 – شارك فريق التعليم المهني بالجمعية العُمانية للطاقة (أوبال) في الندوة التعريفية بعنوان “مسار التعليم المهني والتقني: آفاق المستقبل وفرص التمكين”، التي نظمتها المديرية العامة للتربية والتعليم بمحافظة جنوب الشرقية، بحضور أولياء أمور طلبة الصفين العاشر والحادي عشر.

وخلال الندوة، سلّط الفريق الضوء على الأهمية الاستراتيجية للتعليم المهني والتقني، مع التركيز على التخصصات الهندسية والصناعية وما توفره من فرص أكاديمية ومهنية واعدة، وتناول المسارات التعليمية والتدريبية المتاحة للطلبة، ودورها في تنمية مهاراتهم وتوجيه اهتماماتهم نحو تخصصات نوعية تتوافق مع متطلبات سوق العمل وتسهم في بناء كوادر وطنية مؤهلة قادرة على مواكبة احتياجات القطاعات الاستراتيجية.

The Oman Energy Association (OPAL), in collaboration with the Ministry of Labour, Occidental Oman (OXY) under the Is’ham Program, Gulf Petrochemical Services & Trading, and Al Ghalbi International Engineering & Contracting, organized an induction session for the Employment-Linked Training Program, "Mechanical Technician."

Funded by the Ministry of Labour, the program targets 24 Omani job seekers holding diplomas in Mechanical Engineering, with the aim of equipping them with the skills and competencies required for employment in the mechanical field. The program will be delivered by the National Training Institute (NTI) over a period of 18 months, with participants to be directly employed upon successfully completing all program requirements.

نظّمت الجمعية العُمانية للطاقة (أوبال)، بالتعاون مع وزارة العمل وشركة أوكسيدنتال عُمان ضمن برنامج إسهام، وشركة خدمات الخليج للبتروكيماويات والتجارة، وشركة الغالبي العالمية للهندسة والمقاولات، اللقاء التعريفي ببرنامج التدريب المقرون بالتشغيل "فني ميكانيك".

ويأتي البرنامج بتمويل من وزارة العمل، مستهدفاً 24 خريجاً من حملة دبلوم الهندسة الميكانيكية من الباحثين عن عمل، بهدف تأهيلهم للفرص الوظيفية في المجال الميكانيكي. وسيتولى المعهد الوطني للتدريب تنفيذ البرنامج على مدى 18 شهراً، على أن يتم تعيين المشاركين مباشرةً بعد اجتيازهم متطلبات البرنامج.

The workshop brought together subject matter experts from operating companies across the energy sector to review and approve the updated version of the OPAL Road Safety Standard, ahead of its planned issuance in the third quarter of 2026.

الثلاثاء 2 يونيو 2026 – نظّمت الجمعية العُمانية للطاقة (أوبال)، بالتعاون مع الشركة العُمانية للغاز الطبيعي المسال، ورشة عمل لمراجعة معيار السلامة على الطرق، بمشاركة نخبة من الخبراء والمختصين من الشركات العاملة في قطاع الطاقة، بهدف مراجعة واعتماد النسخة المحدّثة من معيار أوبال للسلامة على الطرق، استعدادًا لإصدارها خلال الربع الثالث من عام 2026.

Monday, 1 June 2026, the Oman Energy Association (OPAL), in collaboration with PDO’s Emdad Team, Occidental Oman under the Es’ham Program, Najed Al Ahliya, Galfar Engineering & Contracting, and Oman International Telecommunication, organized the official induction for the “Planning Engineer Program”, funded by the Ministry of Labour.

The program aims to enhance employment opportunities for 12 Omani job seekers holding bachelor’s degrees in engineering disciplines by equipping them with the skills and competencies required for this field.

The program will be delivered by the International Information Technology Company LLC (IITC) over a period of nine months. Upon successful completion of the program requirements, the trainees will be directly employed.

الاثنين 1 يونيو 2026، نظّمت الجمعية العُمانية للطاقة (أوبال)، بالتعاون مع “فريق إمداد” بشركة تنمية نفط عُمان، وشركة أوكسيدنتال عُمان ضمن “برنامج إسهام”، وشركة نجد الأهلية، وشركة جلفار للهندسة والمقاولات، والشركة العُمانية العالمية للاتصالات، اللقاء التعريفي لبرنامج التدريب المقرون بالتشغيل “برنامج مهندس تخطيط”، والممول من وزارة العمل.

ويستهدف البرنامج 12 من خريجي درجة البكالوريوس في التخصصات الهندسية من الباحثين عن عمل، بهدف تأهيلهم وتوظيفهم في هذا المجال. وسيتولى المعهد العالمي لتقنية المعلومات تنفيذ البرنامج لمدة 9 أشهر، على أن يتم تعيين المتدربين مباشرةً بعد استكمالهم متطلبات البرنامج بنجاح.

Wednesday, 20 May 2026 – The Oman Energy Association (OPAL) wrapped up its participation in Oman Sustainability Week (OSW) and the Oman Petroleum & Energy Show (OPES), held from 18–20 May 2026 at the Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre.

Across three engaging days, OPAL had the opportunity to connect with visitors, industry professionals, and sector leaders through insightful conversations on health and safety, vocational education, in-country value, and human capital development.

OPAL sincerely thanks all visitors and partners for their valuable engagement and support and looks forward to building on these connections through continued collaboration in the future.

الأربعاء، 20 مايو 2026 – اختتمت الجمعية العُمانية للطاقة (أوبال) مشاركتها في معرض عُمان للبترول والطاقة وأسبوع عُمان للاستدامة، اللذين أُقيما خلال الفترة من 18 إلى 20 مايو 2026 بمركز عُمان للمؤتمرات والمعارض، وذلك بعد ثلاثة أيام حافلة بالتفاعل والحوار البنّاء مع الزوار والمهنيين والمتخصصين في مجالات الصحة والسلامة والبيئة، والتعليم المهني والتقني، وتعزيز القيمة المحلية المضافة، وتنمية رأس المال البشري.
