"When there is a threat to the nation, you donβt look at ideological differences. You preserve the nation first. When there is an extreme threat, you need extreme compromise to preserve the nation."
@lynn_ngugi1 Kenyan Parliament sits in Nairobi, but who elected those MPs? Where were the citizens when Parliament was passing the bills and when the President was assenting to them? Are you aware that some of those bills date back as far as 2023? Please stop embarrassing yourself.
@Tv47Newske The African Nations Championship is abbreviated as CHAN (CHampionship of ANations) rather than ANCH due to French linguistic influence and branding by CAF, making it sound smoother and more global. #CHAN#CAF
@wnyakera With each passing day, you confirm that you are unfit to lead as governor of Nairobi. Rather than articulating your vision and outlining the real issues you will address for the city, you continue to engage in unnecessary discussions about people's wives.
@AbdikadirMohami@SylviaKangara@makaumutua@Wakabando@ahmednasirlaw "Courage is the most important attribute of a lawyer. It is more important than competence or vision... It should pervade the heart, the halls of justice and the chambers of the mind." (Robert F. Kennedy)
Kenyaβs democracy cannot survive if state agencies tasked with regulating communications become tools of repression. The CAKβs directive is an affront to constitutional freedoms and must be rescinded now.
The CAK's order to halt live broadcasts of todayβs Gen Z protests is a blatant violation of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010 and media freedom. Silencing the press only fuels authoritarianism and shields abuses from public scrutiny.
With police using tear gas and plainclothes officers against protesters, media blackout means Kenyans are kept in the dark about their safety. This censorship enables impunity and violates constitutional rights to assembly and information.
"The greatness of a nation lies in its fidelity to its Constitution and strict adherence to the rule of law and above all, the fear of God," Chief Justice Emeritus, Hon. David Maraga.
