A social worker at Manhattan’s Mount Sinai Hospital put up a small postcard at her desk bearing the words “Gaza Must Live.” Her superiors asked her to take it down. She refused, and on July 31st, Mount Sinai fired her. https://t.co/2pkl95rB5t
Not surprised by Mount Sinai at all. God forbid you think that Gazans have a right to live. I hope the hospital gets put on blast for this. The social worker herself is Jewish. https://t.co/umFDiB01us
More children than adults being treated for devastating injuries. The amount of children being severely injured, becoming amputees. Not to mention orphans. Children are losing their entire families. I don’t understand how people can continue to justify this.
.@mehdirhasan asked Ms Rachel if there were images from Gaza that stuck in her head.
A little boy shaking from shock, Hind Rajab’s voice on the phone, a little boy who lost his whole family staring at a wall, a baby in a rainbow onesie…
All the things we will never forget.
@defnotadino And then I was diagnosed with OCD. I remember after I was diagnosed I was talking with friends who are social workers about my irrational fear as a kid of someone breaking into my house and all the things I would do to safeguard myself. They were like 👀👀👀, that was your OCD.
@defnotadino It’s just more manageable these days. I do try to force myself to sit with that discomfort. It’s hard though. I’ve always been a bit of a perfectionist, so I didn’t think anything of it at first. It’s only when it really started to impact my ability to work that I looked into it.
