Small request to my academic colleagues: If you are organizing a conference and realize that you need to extend the proposal submission deadline, please do so prior to the actual deadline. It will spare some of your colleagues unnecessary stress, life imbalance, and frustration.
For anyone that has always been excluded, data-driven decisions mean choosing the "best" from choices that all exclude. Our data is from the past & perpetuates the past. We need to learn from the past but also imagine an inclusive future. #inclusivedesign#AI#data#inclusion

If we insist that truth = large homogeneous numbers isolated from context (aka statistical significance) we will deny the truth of poverty, disability, isolation & discrimination, because big homogeneous numbers free of context are not found at the margins #BigData#inclusion
Any policy decisions made using large data sets are biased against small minorities & outliers, they are either normed out or overpowered by the mass, yet they are most vulnerable to the risks of bad decisions. Numbers alone are not the way to decide.#inclusion#policy#BigData
