We're permanently closing the Bali facility on Oct 31st, 2020. Laws were changed in Indonesia during 2019, removing the possibility for us to ever collect data (which was the primary reason for opening). After considering alternative uses of the space we've opted on closing. 1/2
Interested in taking over the space for academic, #coworking, or other purposes? Please do reach out to indonesia(at)igdore(dot)org.
Thank you to everyone who visited the space or planned to do so. 🙏

Dr. Jon Tennant was a brilliant meta-scientist who traveled the world giving enthusiastic & courageous talks on #openaccess. His premature passing in April, at age 31, makes us remember also another OA enthusiast: #aaronschwartz. Let's continue their work. #OAWeek2020#OAWeek

Today is a very special day for me, my first book is out! Its a short book on practical peer support geared towards cultures where peer support is still sparse e.g. Indonesia. We have it in English and Indonesian and will have it in Mandarin soon. Visit https://t.co/PR8phIEMJ7

@l_matthia Good point! The initial thought was these last few months to possibly make this period & ending a bit less dark for the family. But the key question is "would this photo/story be of value to his family?". If the answer is yes, please send it through! <3
Do you have photos or other valuable documentation from Jon Tennant's time on Bali? Maybe stories to share with his family? Please send to [email protected]. We're collecting condolences to the family that will be printed. Documentation from Bali would be valuable to include. 🙏
We have created a public forum thread on how Dr. Jon Tennant's memory can be honored. Blog posts, obituaries, photo collections, other types of projects, please do share ideas and links in this forum thread. 🙏
