At #UNGA80, the Permanent Mission of Afghanistan to the UN, together with our partners, hosted a powerful side event on the Weaponization of Religion by the Taliban and Its Consequences for Afghanistan and Beyond.

Member States, leading #scholars, #experts & #activists came together to expose how the Taliban’s misuse of religion erodes rights, distorts Islam, and threatens global peace.

The voices of Afghan women and youth remain at the heart of this struggle. Their courage reminds us that the international community must stand firm in defending rights, justice, and dignity.
