Persons with disabilities in Nigeria continue to face challenges in accessing opportunities while battling stereotypes that boxes/limits them to specific careers and a wrong societal perception that “they should aspire to nothing beyond begging”💔
Today being #InternationalDayOfPersonsWithDisbilities, our message at Connected Development (@Connected_dev) is simple, it is not enough to say persons with disabilities deserve equal rights and opportunities in the society…act it, live by it by hiring, providing an enabling environment/mentorship, and ending discrimination against persons with disabilities in our society!

She closed by stating “despite best intentions, it is possible for policies not to reflect the needs of the people or address their immediate pressing needs, which is why consultations are important, especially for education interventions”
Recently, Open Parly Nigeria organized a Civic Education campaign at the Federal Polytechnic Damaturu in Yobe State.
This initiative is part of our ongoing efforts to bridge the gap between citizens and their representatives in both state and national assemblies.
