@peterwalker99 The Guardian has no credibility at all in reporting LTN information. I have read several articles in favour, all were statistical junk or touchy feel nonsense. My own council, Enfield, has lied about the success of their schemes. My own LTN boundary road doubled traffic.

@jonburkeUK You are being dishonest. You state your transport plan does not refer to any DFT data. However, you justify your plan on the DFT's expectation that authorities act to reduce vehicle use. The DFT's instruction follows from the DFT' incorrect London minor road traffic data.

That said, some school streets schemes may be worthwhile, it's the LTNs that are bad for the environment and divisive for communities.

@MemesEnfield A recent FOI response, 7 months late, proves the supposed £1.1M golf course loss over 6 years was a complete fabrication. Just pre-covid it was operating at break even and improving.

@ioisours Enfield are the masters of ignoring data that incontrovertably shows their LTNs are not wanted and degrade the environment. They are also well practised at presenting unfavourable data in a way that makes it look positive.

Lying is their default choice because the truth hurts!

@jonburkeUK But you are not halving injuries! Before LTN installed 50 injuries in area, 2 of which are in LTN. After LTN 1 injury within LTN 52 outside due to diverted traffic. Net result 50% fewer injuries within LTN, outside LTN statistically insignificant. Yet injuries INCREASED!
