The full trilogy is a long read (~8000 words including photo captions), but hey! You’ll learn something about the Gubeikou Great Wall, and the photos are fantastic.
New on the website, a collection of 50+ photos from the Gubeikou ‘Wohushan’ Great Wall, some maps, plus a short digression on what’s claimed to be the oldest Great Wall in Beijing. Link coming next …
Gubeikou Great Wall and etc (Part I) is an overview covering (1) the Gubeikou ‘Panlongshan’ Great Wall, (2) the Gubeikou ‘Wohushan’ Great Wall, (3) the village that’s located where the gates and Ming Dynasty camp used to be, and (4) the North Gate and an inner loop of Great Wall.
I've made a collection of photos from various visits to the Gubeikou ‘Panlongshan’ Great Wall in northeast Beijing, some from a first visit in 2007 and then a whole lot more from subsequent hikes. (Included a few photos here, link to the full collection coming later)
There’s a post on The Website about the Great Wall at Shuiguan and Qinglongqiao. The post has been updated with some photos from a recent visit on which we were able to sneak into a closed part.

Having been able to sneak into that closed part (and other closed parts on earlier visits) I’ve *nearly* hiked all of this section of the wall—next time just need to buy a ticket and hike up the touristy bit.
