I woke up today excited.
I’m outside of Poltava, and I feel amazing.
My 50 km mark today is on the other side of Poltava, out of the city, which means Poltava is 100% doable.
And I cannot explain how excited I am to see stores. To know that, for at least one day, I’ll have easy access to water. To know that every kilometer is taking me closer to Kharkiv Oblast, and closer to the end of this journey.
We are now just $562 away from our $50,000 goal.
https://t.co/6d3TNP169B
That feels incredible.
We’ve had a lot of losses over the course of this journey, and you are making it possible for us to replace some of that equipment.
In the nonprofit world, we call this “earmarked” money. Every single dollar of that $50,000 already has a purpose. I have a list of equipment that needs to be replaced, things my soldiers need, and things we have lost along the way.
And I have another list.
A list of names that keeps growing while I walk this walk.
The names of boys who didn’t get to see me finish this story.
Boys who have now been added to the long list of soldiers I walk in honour of.
That is the part of this journey that is much harder to put into words.
Every kilometer brings me closer to the finish, but not everyone who was there when I started is still here to see me reach it.
So I keep walking for them, too.
Please keep helping my boys.
And if you can’t donate, please like, comment, and share.
It genuinely makes a difference.
Poltava is only the beginning of this story.
If you stay with me, there is so much more I need to show you.
There are incredible moments ahead.
There are heartbreaking ones too.
There are people I want you to meet, places I need you to see, and stories that deserve to be told.
We’re getting closer.
Help me honour the ones who didn’t get to see the end.
And please help me take care of my soldiers.

I was sitting at a bus stop waiting for Andrew when a car suddenly pulled up.
And out stepped the man from the store yesterday, the same man who had refused to let me pay for my food.
He came running toward me with his phone in his hand, my picture on the screen, saying, “This is you! This is you!”
Somehow, he had found me on Instagram and then driven up and down the highway looking for me until he found me sitting there at a bus stop.
He opened his car and started pulling things out for me: cookies, water, and 2,000 hryvnia for my soldiers.
That 2,000 UAH was added directly to the balance for thermal drones.
What do you even say to something like that?
Yesterday, he told me about his family in #Canada. Today, this man went looking for me on the road to Poltava because he wanted to help my boys and help me.
I sat there at that bus stop with a very different kind of tears running down my face.
There are days on this journey when I am tired, sore, overwhelmed, and wondering how I am going to keep putting one foot in front of the other. And then someone appears.
Someone gives me food.
Someone brings water.
Someone donates.
Someone drives out of their way.
Someone refuses to let me pay.
Someone simply decides, “I can help.”
And somehow, all of those little acts carry me a little farther.
Not long after that incredible encounter, another car pulled up.
Andrew from @HugsUkraine
Andrew, thank you so much for going out of your way to purchase this for me, for refusing to let me pay for it, and simply for being the kind of volunteer your country needs.
This journey may be mine to walk, but I am being carried along it by so many people.
To the man who searched the highway for me, to Andrew, and to every person who has donated, shared, stopped, brought something, encouraged me, or helped my soldiers along the way:
Thank you.
I am ever grateful.
Hugs. 💙💛

Russia killed Oleksii Yukov, the head of the Platsdarm body recovery group.
Oleksii repatriated over 10,000 bodies in more than 25 years of his work. Born and raised in Sloviansk, Donetsk region, Oleksii was initially recovering the remains of soldiers from World War II.
After Russia first invaded Ukraine in 2014, Oleksii founded the Platsdarm group, which, to this day, is systematically searching for bodies of Ukrainian and Russian soldiers, as well as civilians, in the hottest spots of the frontline.
Oleksii was fatally wounded while exhuming bodies on the frontline.
Eternal memory and eternal glory to Ukrainian Hero.
🕯️ Photos of the victims of the russian attack on Kvitneva railway station, shared by local media.
They were simply waiting for a train.
They should still be alive💔
He risked his life daily so no Ukrainian hero would be forgotten.
Oleksii Yukov, head of Platsdarm, was killed on the front lines while recovering fallen soldiers to return them to their families with dignity.

Those last 17 kilometres felt like a herculean achievement.
I was running dangerously low on water. My food was gone. I was exhausted, and I had spent the night sleeping directly on the ground in a wheat field after losing my bedroll.
The only landmark I had was a yellow billboard.
Just beyond it was a tree line. Somewhere inside those trees, hopefully, was a box I had hidden beneath sticks and leaves containing everything I needed for the next 50 kilometres.
It had rained on and off for days. Hiding that box had been a gamble, and I had no idea what I was walking into.
But I found it.
Walking off the highway and into those trees gave me an immediate burst of energy. Inside that box were the answers to so many of my immediate prayers: water, food, fresh supplies, a clean shirt and clean underwear.
Never underestimate what clean underwear can do for morale.
I have now officially walked 250 of 681 kilometres. I am one day away from Poltava, and we are less than $4,000 from our $50,000 goal.
Today, I am arranging the purchase of ten EcoFlow power stations. We are also looking at purchasing a quadricycle ATV for one of our companies.
After that, every dollar donated so far will already be spent.
Being close to the goal does not mean the need is over. Hundreds of soldiers are relying on us, and they are waiting for me to come home.
This walk is not symbolic. This fundraiser is purchasing equipment that resupplies our positions and saves the lives of my soldiers.
We cannot stop now.
Please help me help my soldiers and bring these last kilometres home.

I was 17 kilometers from the 250-kilometer mark. About three hours and twenty minutes.
But I could not take another step.
I found a farmer’s field where someone had driven through and flattened the wheat, set up my tent, and realized I had lost my sleeping mat somewhere along the road. I did not bring a sleeping bag because I was told it would be too hot.
So tonight, there is nothing between me and the ground.
This journey has been almost entirely alone, and sometimes the hardest part is not the pain. It is being alone with your own thoughts when your body is exhausted and there is still so far to go.
But as I lay my head down tonight, I know I am mostly safe. I am alive. And thousands of people are standing behind the soldiers I am walking for.
That is what keeps me moving.
We are incredibly close to reaching $50,000, and more than half of it has already been spent on urgently needed equipment. We are now discussing purchasing an ATV with part of what remains.
But I fundraise for hundreds of people in my battalion. Hundreds of soldiers whose positions are being destroyed and whose equipment constantly needs to be replaced.
The situation back home is not good.
Right now, I want to purchase ten power stations to help rebuild several positions. Ten EcoFlows will cost approximately $8,000.
Please help us get there.

Even the smallest action pushes this farther and helps protect the men and women in my team.
Tonight, I sleep on the ground.
Tomorrow, I keep walking for them.

Найстрашніше — це коли на асфальті лежить тіло людини, яку щойно вбила російська ракета, а поруч безперервно розривається телефон. Бо для когось на тому кінці дроту ця людина була цілим світом. Я живу в пеклі, але не можу це довести!
Dziadek wierny widz Republiki ujęty. Brutalny atak w Gdyni. 76-latek zaszedł od tyłu 40-letnią Ukrainkę i dwa razy walnął ją drewnianą laską w tył głowy. Kobieta zakrwawiona, ze szwami, ledwo żywa ze strachu. A sprawca? Spokojnie sobie odszedł.
Policja złapała dziadka. Dobrze.
Kobieta wraca do domu. Zero prowokacji. Zero konfliktu.
