On June 19th this year I celebrated my 86th birthday. Happy Birthday To me. As I think over the few years of my life I am amazed at how slowly time seems to pass while we count the seconds on the clock and how swiftly after it has gone!
Well, I have so much to be grateful for!!! I was raised by two loving and dedicated parents who taught me to Trust In The LORD and do good.
I was born and raised in America and spent every minute of my life here in the USA. I graduated from high school in the state of Louisiana. Since I had maintained a B+ average I received a scholarship to attend Southern University. My parents were very proud of me. My classmates voted me the boy most likely to succeed.
Well, I have enjoyed my share of successes and failures, but I am not finished yet. My father used to say "I don't want to rust out, I want to wear out." I can still hear him saying those words.
Well, I received a poster from 33rd District IL State Representative Marcus C Evans Jr. early this week or late last week announcing a meeting at the local community service office for a day of connecting, socializing, and Idea sharing on Sat July 13, 2024. from 830 a.m. - 130 p.m
Well, I have worked in many occupations during my lifetime but I never tried politics. I think I should give it a whirl. I am so excited. But I am patient and I am trusting god to allow me this last fling at being a boy who succeeded.
