To all of the men out there who are struggling, who keep their pain, their anguish, their depression, their despair bottled up or locked down inside of them because they've always been told that's what you do as a man... I see you. I see you, and I love you.

Even the strongest, even the most courageous, even the most valiant, who wouldn't hesitate to sacrifice themselves and leap to the defense of others, can often not defeat a enemy that is your own mind. While many might consider it weakness to recognize that some internal struggles simply can't be overcome without help, I consider it a strength. The strength to acknowledge the pain you are going through, the torment you want to overcome. The strength to recognize what is happening and the willingness to do whatever it takes, to get whatever help is necessary. The strength to get you through to the other side and make your life better... both for yourself and for those you love.

I am here to tell you there is no shame, no tarnishing of your strength, no diminishing of what it means to be a man to reach out and ask for help if you truly do need it. Men, you are the bedrock of our society. You are the ones women depend upon to protect us and keep safe... and we will be there for you to lean on whenever you need us.

I know it can be so very easy for you to doubt yourselves in those difficult moments, but please remember that so many of us don't doubt you, and we will happily be there for you whenever you need us.
