The Parents Bill of Rights is garbage. If Republicans have the power to prohibit the inclusion of books about 2 male penguin friends and songs about rainbows in schools, based on their belief that parents should determine what their children learn, then shouldn't Democrats also have the right to ban any references to guns, Trump, or oil from educational settings for the same reason?

I want to make it clear that I am not advocating for Democrats to follow suit, but I want to highlight the dangerous disregard for the First Amendment that the GOP is displaying.

Despite Republican claims that "wokeness" is damaging society, the true threat lies in Republicans taking away rights under the facade of "anti-wokeness." Wake up America!

Here is my problem with the Laws against Drag Shows that DeSantis and Lee put forth in Florida and Tennessee.

Why are they targeting the LGBTQ+ communities ?

- It is LEGAL to bring your child into R-rated movies which show nudity and actual sex.

- It is LEGAL to bring your kids to topless beaches in Florida and to Spring break where drunk college kids do far worse than drag queens, on PUBLIC property.

But.

- It is ILLEGAL to bring your child into a non-nude show where drag queens may or may not joke around about sex or dance in a sexual manner, clothed.

These states are all about “parental rights” when it comes to education and religion but when they can use their power to attack minorities those rights fly out the window.
