Kanwal Rekhi’s "The Ground Breaker" is a must-read but for us, it’s a little more personal. Kanwal’s influence runs deep at Orbion. As a mentor to co-founder and CEO Brad King, he helped shape not just the company, but the confidence behind it. Thank you, Kanwal.
Grateful to moderator Tom Stroup of the Satellite Industry Association and fellow panelists Edward Lu of LeoLabs, Dan Terrett of Odin Space, and Nicolaas Verheem of TRL11, alongside our Co-founder and CEO Brad King, for an insightful session at Small Satellite Symposium.
Curious what the weather’s doing at Orbion HQ? Or want a look at the infamous double-decker lift bridge right outside our front door?

Flight heritage can not be transferred cleanly from one unit to the next if there have been any changes, even small, in the design or manufacturing process.

From Michigan → space.
On Jan 11, another 12 Orbion Aurora thrusters on multiple customer spacecraft reached orbit aboard a Falcon 9 Block 5 from @SpaceX.
Thanks to our Michigan partners who share this success. 🚀
All of Orbion’s elves are busy building Hall-effect plasma thrusters for good little girls and boys. Our factory, just a snowball’s throw from the North Pole, has the capacity to put shiny new thrusters under everybody’s tree. Happy Holidays from the Orbion family to yours.
We are grateful to the State of Michigan for investing $100K from Michigan’s Going PRO Talent Fund and the Michigander Scholars Program to support Orbion's intern & employee training programs. Part of a $25M investment across 449 businesses training 12,800+ Michiganders.
On-orbit telemetry from a spacecraft flying our Aurora system. That downward slide is atmospheric drag, and the up part is our thruster giving it a little boost to stay on track. What does down must come up.
Most days we’re talking thrusters and orbit telemetry … but not today (and yes, saying that totally counts). Autumn moves fast in Michigan. Today’s drive to HQ was a reminder that loving where you live fuels loving what you do.
We made a three-page book about electric propulsion
• it’s efficient
• saves fuel and money
• it’s reliable
• gets satellites where they need to go
4 out of 5 rocket scientists said we “oversimplified.”
The 5th one asked for a copy
We recently presented two papers at 39th International Electric Propulsion Conference (IEPC) in London:
* Life Qualification on Krypton

Built. Boxed. Trusted. – Propulsion. Perfected.
From engineering to manufacturing to the loading dock – satellite plasma propulsion systems lined up and ready for the customers who count on Orbion to do what we do best. Next stop: orbit. #Orbion#ElectricPropulsion#SmallSat
The Electric Rocket Propulsion Society #ERPS honored Scott Hall this week in London with the #KurikiAward for Young Professionals in recognition of his work advancing the development and qualification of high-power, commercial #HallEffect thrusters. #IEPC
CEO Brad King addressed a packed audience of #MichiganTech first-year #engineering students, emphasizing responsibility, opportunity, and the importance of breaking down challenges into solvable steps. Big challenges await — and these students are ready to take them on. #STEM
We're headed to London for the International Electric Propulsion Conference (#IEPC) — ready to share groundbreaking results, connect with the global EP community, and celebrate a few industry firsts. #IEPC2025#ElectricPropulsion#SpaceInnovation#Orbion
What gives a title sponsorship real credibility? Showing up. Here’s proof: actual #Orbion employees, race-day ready at the 2025 Orbion x Copper Harbor Trails Fest. Kudos to the other 692 racers who also showed up for an incredible weekend. #MTB#CopperHarbor
