@OdohertyI64991 Hamas did not start anything. Before Oct 7th in 2023 in the non-Hamas controlled West Bank, Israel killed 241 Palestinians. Bet you couldn’t care less. They killed lots in Gaza pre-7/10 2023. That’s the point. Do you deal in facts or lies?
@OdohertyI64991 Yes, nobody ever mentions October 7th 2023. 2023. Nobody. Ever mentions it. Did you really write that? Israel could have followed International Law for a start. They could’ve admitted journalists to report from Gaza. Lastly, writing that Hamas “started” a war. Read some history
@ronportnoir Came across him a few weeks ago. Like you said he was spouting some pro-Israel bs without having the courage to own what they are. To him West (Israel) = good and Islam (Palestine) = bad. No loss, Ron. If he’s lucky he’ll get to the truth in a few years.
@ronportnoir@christianjbdev None of them know the history in my experience. Anyone rational who reads it knows what’s right and wrong. The ones that do know it and are still pro Israeli are proper dangers
@ronportnoir@christianjbdev How dare you question the liberal, rational pro-Israel crew Ron. The man can’t be expected to deal with the radicalism of a few tweets disagreeing with him,
@ronportnoir@christianjbdev It really is that simple. If they cracked a book and actually read the history they’d realise it’s nothing to do with trans or oil. Ffs. It’s to do with decades of oppression and ethnic cleansing. Woke my arse.
@ronportnoir@christianjbdev 100%. And this new branch of pro-Israel supporters think that it all started on 7/10. Ahistorical stuff. Imagine looking at what Israel has done to Gaza - before and after 7/10 - and not understand how every kid there wants revenge. Again, they just have no idea of the history.
@ronportnoir@christianjbdev Christian, a big believer in being moderate, liberal and not too radical, has blocked me. Typical. All you’ve to do is tell them what they stand for to get under their skin. Tweet him there and tell him to read some Ilan Pappe.
@ronportnoir@christianjbdev Whatever about the merits of the other two movements, equating the Palestinian struggle for liberation with the other two is just silly. They’re distinct movements. Thinking of the Palestinian cause as “woke” highlights how silly these people are.
@ronportnoir@christianjbdev Same way the Israelis go on about their right to exist while whereas in reality the only right to exist being actually threatened and erased is the Palestinian people.
@ronportnoir@christianjbdev You’re a bully because you’re woke even though, on the ground, Gaza is being razed to dust the West Bank is being ethnically cleansed week by week. You’re the intimidating one 😆
@ronportnoir@christianjbdev The Israelis of course are famous for not getting what they want through “intimidation” 😆 and “radicalism” 😆 We’re through the looking glass. Palestine is culturally powerful and Israel isn’t is how they see it. Complete opposite of reality.
@simon_schama@OdohertyI64991 Not that you care one jot but conflating Israel and Jewish people - which you’ve done deliberately here - is textbook antisemitism. If you any integrity at all you’ll retract your false allegation of “Jew hating” against @RichieSadlier . Shame on you.
As Israel lay siege to Lebanon, crush Gaza into dust and ethnically cleanse the West Bank settlement by settlement, Irish people need to stay focused on the big picture: a Boy George interview and about how we can begin atoning for our wide-spread antisemitism 😆
I truly hope that Boy George’s appeal for empathy for Jewish people reached some who needed to hear it. Well done to Holocaust Awareness Ireland for bringing this issue to light with their most apt and searing commentary.
I have faith in the Irish people, and the human race entire, and still believe that hearts and minds an be opened. I hope Boy George’s interview and HAI’s commentary on it may have created a crack where the light can come in.
A clear illustration of the staggering levels of dishonesty & partisanship: pro-Israeli politicians and officials do not care about rights, rule of law, democracy, or the safety of citizens as much as they care about shielding a foreign country from criticism and accountability
@christianjbdev Yeah October 7th is famously under discussed alright. First time I heard of it was in your post. Seriously. But if you’re going to comment on it you should probably take out some books from the library and read up about it. Ilan Pappe is a good place to start.
