Introducing

⚡️evmOS Lite EVMs ⚡️

Excited to introduce our latest EVM innovation and have @osmosiszone be the first to adopt it 🫡

The EVM supports 2 types of contract calls (image below):

1. General Execution: Uses the interpreter to call standard contracts (eg. solidity).

2. Native Execution: Calls native code (precompiles) for optimized execution.

At er we pioneered using Native Execution to call native t actions from contracts such as IBC Transfers and staking.

The thing is, everyone wants to have the users and distribution from EVM wallets, but not all chains wish to support EVM smart contracts.

So at @EvmosOrg we came up with a completely new way to support all EVM wallets while restricting standard solidity contract deployments and calls to the EVM: Lite EVMs.

Lite EVMs are only possible on evmOS. They are forward-compatible EVM chains that enable calls only the Native Execution path (2), while disabling the General Execution path (1) on the EVM. This allows us to support native stateful precompiled contracts (aka. EVM Extensions).

What does this mean for Osmosis?

- You can see your OSMO balance and Osmosis portfolio on any EVM wallet (no Snaps or add-ons required).
- Significantly expand their user base (MM alone has over 30M users)
- Tokens on Osmosis are dually represented as IBC and ERC-20s through Native ERC-20 tokens.
- Execute all native transactions on Osmosis as EVM Extensions
- Plug-n-play: They can put the Uniswap v3 ABI on top of the DEX module to have full support for more dApps and services.
