"The Pentagon announced they're doing an LCCM buy from Anduril; our Barracuda-500 class. We will produce 7,000 barracudas in 2027. Deliveries on Tomahawks and Patriots are both less than 1,000 a year, so we will make ten times more Barracuda-500s than Patriots or Tomahawks."
Aalo Atomics CEO @MattLoszak on going from founding to fission in under three years and why he now considers nuclear regulation one of his lowest risks:
"15 years ago, there were anti-nuclear people in charge of the NRC. That's not regulation, that is active prevention. But things have really changed in the past five years"
"You have things like the DANU arm of the NRC for advanced reactor licensing. The executive orders for DOE authorization, DOE-NRC harmonization. NRC Part 53, Part 57, focused on advanced reactor licensing, micro reactor licensing."
"What we've proven now, going from founding to fission in under three years, is that the regulatory environment is just much more healthy now."
"It's still very stringent and it's a gold standard regulator, but it's no longer active prevention. I actually have regulatory as one of my lower risks on the risk register for our company at this point in time."
.@DeptofWar awarded @LockheedMartin a contract to develop and test a 500 kW-class laser weapon system for the unmanned aerial defense capability.
A tactical containerized 500 kW laser weapon system would provide commanders with scalable, cost-effective intercept solutions. ⬇️
🇺🇸 Lockheed Martin has been awarded a U.S. Department of War (DoW) contract to advance the United States’ next generation cruise missile and unmanned aerial system defense architecture. @LockheedMartin@DeptofWar
Under this Joint Laser Weapon System (JLWS) program, Lockheed Martin will develop a tactical containerized 500 kW laser weapon system, providing combatant commanders with scalable, cost-effective intercept solutions. The award acknowledges the company's collaboration with SCALED Directed Energy, one of the Department of War’s six Critical Technology Areas under the Office of the Under Secretary of War for Research and Engineering (OUSW(R&E)).
Compared with conventional kinetic systems, laser weapon systems provide a decisive operational edge: speed‑of‑light engagement, virtually unlimited magazines, and a dramatically lower cost per intercept - capabilities essential for defeating high‑volume UAS swarms and advanced cruise‑missile threats.

🇨🇭 Swiss defence procurement agency, armasuisse and Lockheed Martin have finalized additional offset projects as part of Switzerland's F-35A procurement programme. @LockheedMartin
According to a statement from the Swiss Federal Department of Defence, Civil Protection and Sport (DDPS), these new projects will strengthen security-relevant key technologies, industrial capabilities and Switzerland’s resilience. @vbs_ddps
The statement added that offset transactions amounting to around 73% of the contract value is anticipated to be achieved, instead of the required 60%.
As of June 30, $1.03 billion worth of offset transactions are credited to Lockheed Martin in connection with the F-35A procurement and are listed in the offset register. This corresponds to around one-third of the total offset obligations of around $3 billion (60% of the contract value).
The Swiss Federal Council announced the selection of F-35 Lightning II for the Swiss Air Force's New Fighter Aircraft program in 2021, with the procurement contract finalized in 2022. The first Swiss F-35A recently began its major assembly at Lockheed Martin’s F-35 Center Wing Assembly (CWA) line in Marietta, Georgia.
