We are now officially less than two weeks away from the start of the @FIFAWorldCup.
This summer is going to be electric.
Spain, France, and England are the favorites to win, closely followed by Brazil and Argentina.
Think about what's actually happening at this @FIFAWorldCup.
Messi is playing in his 6th. Ronaldo too. Both are 38+ and are on borrowed time unfortunately. No player in the history of the men's game has ever appeared in six different World Cups until now.
Meanwhile Lamine Yamal is 18. Mbappé is 27 and already has 12 World Cup goals. A new era is physically standing on the same field as the old one.
We've never watched a changing of the guard happen in real time like this. Not at this scale. And certainly not with this much on the line.
One of these guys lifts the trophy on July 19th in New Jersey at MetLife Stadium.
And when they do, we'll look back at 2026 as the exact moment the torch got passed.
Soak it in. You won't see anything like this again.

France might be the most dangerous team in the 2026 World Cup. They have the talent and depth to potentially make it to the finals with relative ease.
But it comes down to three key players: (1) Kylian Mbappé, (2) Ousmane Dembélé, and (3) N'Golo Kanté.
Here is a quick breakdown why. 🧵
3/ N'Golo Kanté. He is the heartbeat of the French team that no one is talking about.
At 35, France does not have anyone who can do what Kanté does as a defensive midfielder. He is the reason France's attack can be as free and aggressive as it is.
Without him shielding the defense, everything for the French team breaks down. Do not overlook the role Kanté plays for the World Cup favorites.

2/ Ousmane Dembélé. The guy carrying the Ballon d'Or into this tournament.
Don't overlook how ridiculous his last two seasons with PSG have been. 35 goals and 16 assists across all competitions in 2024/2025. UEFA Champions League Player of the Year. Ligue 1 Player of the Year. Ballon d'Or recipient in 2025.
The man is now walking into the 2026 World Cup at the age of 29. And is at the peak of his career.
He started at PSG as a right winger but has since been transformed into a striker by Luis Enrique. This move has proved to be a masterstroke.
Here is the deal. World Cup teams are going to revolve their defensive game plans around Mbappé. This will allow Dembélé to eat them alive.
The USMNT is facing off against European powerhouse Germany this Saturday in Chicago. This game is much more than a friendly competition.
It’s a chance for Coach Pochettino to finalize his World Cup war plans. Even a draw for the USMNT would be massive and a good source of momentum heading into the first round.
There are two players on the USMNT I am watching with a keen eye: (1) Matt Freese and (2) Auston Trusty.
Matt Freese could be a sneaky choice for the USMNT as the starting goalkeeper. While he doesn’t have nearly as much experience as Turner, he is a young, dynamic player. This may be his last opportunity to convince Pochettino he is ready for the starting spot. I tend to favor him as the starter because he has a chip on his shoulder. He wants to prove to the international playing field that he is ready and a capable goalie.
Auston Trusty could be the additional backline player the USMNT needs, especially with a shaky or inexperienced goalkeeper. Trusty could become even more important in the starting squad of Chris Richard’s injury continues to set him back. The USMNT backline is the only risk for Coach Pochettino and could be the downfall of the scrappy team. I hope that is not the case, but that’s what data says.
Regardless, I am thrilled to watch the USMNT play against Germany. Just maybe, Team U.S.A deserves to be in this tournament. I will always root for the Stars & Stripes. I am confident in Christian Pulisic as a leader and player.

@MikeConti929 Yeah everyone saying the World Cup has no “hype” around it this time are clueless. Just wait until it’s anyone ever talks about for 30 days straight.
The ad cycle hasn’t even started yet. The marketing tsunami will spark broad conversation.
@BWrld22@pord_daed@tombogert That’ll happen eventually, especially once corporations start seeing an uptick in marketing spend across the MLS ecosystem. Everything is profit driven.
