🚨🇮🇱🇵🇸 Is Israel's aggressive foreign policy making it impossible for them to build reliable partnerships in South Asia and the Gulf?
Former Pakistani Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari notes that Pakistan has strictly refused to recognize Israel since its founding, comparing its systemic actions against Palestinians to historical apartheid.
Bilawal argued Israel's conduct remains a massive stumbling block not just for Islamabad, but for nations all across the Middle East looking for long-term regional stability.
"It's not even a question of good or bad relations; we don't have relations with the Israeli government."
@BBhuttoZardari
GeoDocumentary Mess. While it looks bad (channel shutdown, warnings and even YouTube closure) it could have been worse. In the absence of this action this could have gone to the public realm and all sorts of extreme things could have happened, beyond anyone's control. #Geo#PEMRA
Karbala: The Birth of a Moral Revolution
Dr. Ali Shariati, the great Iranian sociologist, argued that Shi’ism was a revolt against history: a rejection of the political and social order that emerged after the Prophet’s (PBUH) death.
In his view, Karbala was therefore not an isolated tragedy but the culmination of a long struggle over justice, legitimacy and the moral purpose of the Islamic state.
It was the point at which moral resistance confronted political power in its most uncompromising form.
The martyrdom of Imam Hussain (AS) transformed that struggle into an enduring movement, giving Shi’ism its historical consciousness and ethical identity.
For Shariati, Karbala was not merely an event to be mourned; it was a timeless call to stand against oppression, regardless of the odds.
My sympathies. My wife and I have gone through similar experience in the UK. One pedestal fan was not enough even with the windows open. And no fans in the market. Now our daughter has installed a ceiling fan for us, which with an open widow does the trick even with the hottest days.
It occurred to me that there maybe another angle to President Pezeshkian being welcomed and honored with extraordinary warmth and deeply meaningful national gestures and honorary degrees in Pakistan immediately after the Lucerne Summit. And that angle maybe that he stood up at great personal risk to the hardliners in IRGC, which saved the day and finally led to the signing of the Islamabad MOU. No one would have known this better than the mediator, Pakistan. This kind of welcome may have, therefore, had the additional purpose of strengthening President Pezeshkian at home and to thank him for his contribution to concluding the MOU. Shaheryar Azhar
@DanQayyum The bride & groom decided to postpone the ceremony out of an abundance of caution, because of the threat posed by a former girl-friend of the groom, who is understood to have taken it very badly that she was jilted”. As the saying goes: “Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned”.

Is this a Freudian moment for President Trump? Signing the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding in Versailles, recalls the infamous Treaty of Versailles of 1919, doesn’t it?
In an unprecedented development Pakistani embassy officials in Tehran are reporting euphoria in Iran since the peace deal announcement, a wave of hope has swept across Iranian society — from university campuses to public squares. At Tehran University, Pakistani officials alongside European diplomats found the mood overwhelmingly pro-peace. Hardliners exist , but a large majority of ordinary Iranians are simply ignoring them.
But here is what no diplomatic cable could fully capture:
On the streets of Tehran, when Iranians spot Pakistani nationals among them something remarkable happens. They stop. They embrace. They chant.
“Pakistan.”
“Asim Munir.”
Spontaneously. Emotionally. From the heart of a nation that has not forgotten who stood by them when the bombs were falling.
Pakistani embassy officials in Tehran describe it as “unprecedented”, an organic outpouring of affinity for Pakistan across every segment of Iranian society, from students to citizens on the street.
The peace deal was announced on Sunday. The signing is Friday.
In between, there are five specific ways it can be derailed. None of which require Israel to fire a single shot.
The Pakistan Playbook (@PKPlaybook) has mapped each one.
A country that built its own strategic survival from nothing is the country credible enough to broker the strategic survival of others.
The discipline and single-mindedness that built Pakistan's nuclear deterrent also built the mediation. The chorus declaring both impossible was the same.
So was Pakistan's answer.
Dear Prime Minister, as a ordinary Pakistani and a person on planet Earth, I thank you, Field Marshal Asim Munir, DPM Ishaq Dar and Interior Minister, Mohsin Naqvi for your Herculean and unrelenting efforts to bring peace between America and Iran. May all of you be blessed and may you continue to similarly lead Pakistan. @CMShehbaz
Following intensive talks, we are pleased to announce that the Peace Deal between the United States of America and Islamic Republic of Iran has been REACHED. Both sides have declared the immediate and permanent termination of military operations on all fronts, including in Lebanon.
The official signing ceremony will be on Friday, 19 June in Switzerland.
We would like to thank the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran for their commitment to finding a diplomatic solution to the conflict. We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to our brothers in this mediation effort, the great leadership of State of Qatar, for their support in reaching this agreement. I would also especially thank the visionary leadership of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Republic of Türkiye for their immense contributions in this regard.
With the agreement now in place, mediators will facilitate a series of meetings this week. These pre-implementation discussions will lay the foundation for the technical talks and the official signing ceremony.

Extremely proud as a Pakistani for the outstanding vital role played by Pakistan in helping negotiate peace in a war that threatened the welfare of the entire world and the security of the whole region. Well done Pakistan 🇵🇰. #Ceasefire
@CMShehbaz@HassanAyub82 All credit goes to the leadership of Pakistan, especially PM Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir.
Today, the world says: THANK YOU, PAKISTAN 🇵🇰
“Economics is fundamentally political — it has never been, and never will be, a value-free science. At its core, economics is shaped by ideologies, human morality, competing interests, social norms, and political priorities. Pretending otherwise does not make economics more rigorous. It makes it more dangerous. Economics was born as political economy for a reason.” @haugejostein https://t.co/PmsxI1mtjB
