@the_transit_guy the central problem with elevated cable cars: either they're a fixed distance apart, in which case you have to load and unload passengers while the damn thing is moving across an elevated platform (dangerous), or they move independently on the same cable (even more dangerous)
@the_transit_guy as a former Santa Cruz Boardwalk employee who had to operate This Fucking Thing โฌ๏ธ, using anything like it as public transit sounds like a nightmare
@diannaeanderson though it is worth mentioning I think that keeping these available on the used book market MIGHT reduce the number of royalty-paying reprints people actually buy. idk really

i just duct taped mine shut. A couple of them are doorstops, sorcerer's stone is propping up a chest with a broken leg, a couple of them were window props at the old house... still plenty useful as bricks
