@CllrMichaelLong You claim to be supporting all businesses, you are not and many independent retailers told you this. Hospitality are already free to trade so it does little to help in this area. You may be please but independent retailers won’t be so pleased.

@CllrMichaelLong Small business is the life blood of the NI economy and your decision heaps more pressure on independent retail. We already face the highest rates in the UK, many business groups and Unions provided reasons why this is a poor idea yet you push this through.

@CllrMichaelLong Congratulations on enabling multinational businesses to further heap pressure on small independent businesses and retailers. When BCC faced the same National Insurance rises we faced you simply upped our rates by nearly 6% and used Nat Insurance rises as your justification.

@BReid27 Sadly not surprising Brian, load further staffing costs into businesses that are reeling from a few years of massive cost of goods inflation and energy hikes and the perfect storm has landed. Business confidence shattered as we move deeper into a cost of doing business crisis.
