@redsteeze Several articles noted "women walking hours through the jungle in search of contraceptives". I find this difficult to believe as the women all have multiple babies suggesting they were not correctly using contraceptives, or using them at all.
@NickKristof@elonmusk "The Liberian government was completely unprepared to absorb the sudden financial shock of the foreign aid cuts due to long-term structural dependencies." Long-term? Why wasn't money directed towards being self-sufficient?
@ukhomeoffice This is far too low. That's only 12.5 removals per day when far higher numbers are arriving each day. This headline is meant to fool the public (again).
@Jimmyrinse1@ZiaYusufUK That would be great. But the others will be disproportionately Asian and they won't rule to deport anyone. This idea is horrible.
@LeadingReport This is excellent news for anyone who cares about the environment. Fewer people means less damage to our country's land, lakes, forests etc.
@RepMaxwellFrost Disagree. The S. Court's decision helps protect a valuable program from abuse. The law should be amended to restrict TPS to 5 identifiable groups at a time. That way, the only way to support a new group is to end TPS status for an earlier group.
@washingtonpost Congress should amend the TPS law to clearly state 1. subject to annual renewal and 2. children born to TPS parents do not receive citizenship. Both changes would move the law back to its original intent - to *temporarily* help a specific group of individuals.
@PramilaJayapal Democrats believe that when everyone who is here illegally votes, and does so multiple times, that Democrats will have total control over the government. Rather than changing their positions to attract American voters, they alter the rules to reach global voters.
@GeepersNFT@PramilaJayapal Even if Haitians are awesome, allowing them to stay forever would be an abuse of the TPS program. Any TPS group must be required to leave to 1. fulfill the promise that it was temporary and 2. make room for others who need TPS.
@Mick_O_Keeffe The migrants are the soldiers doing what they're told. Most probably could pick out Ireland on a map. Who is funding and recruiting these people? Someone is intentionally and fundamentally changing Ireland forever.
@scotus_wire Asylum seekers arriving at the border should have to prove that they've already applied in the country in which they are standing (Mexico or Canada).
@BillMelugin_ This is also a big win for Haiti and Syria. These people are some of the best citizens those two countries ever produced and their return will greatly benefit their societies.
@danielsgoldman@camhigby Um....this is Goldman clearly throwing his guy under the bus. Goldman pretends to be defending him while spreading the pictures to all of his followers.
@LozzaFox Maybe keeping the population at 1996 levels would have also lowered air pollution. Londonβs population has seen massive growth over the last 30 years, rising from roughly 6.8 million in 1996 to a record high of approximately 9.9 million in the metropolitan area today.
@SamCKx Child Care? The claim is grossly exaggerated online hyperbole. What actually happened is that a massive, pre-legislated state subsidy program successfully went into full effect over the last year.
