#Backrooms nails the lore, world-building, and feverish nightmare imagery that made the concept so compelling. Sadly, it gets caught between character drama & mythology, never fully committing to either. In searching for answers, it rarely finds any, instead left with emptiness.
The Mandalorian & Grogu is basically a polished made-for-TV movie stretched to feature length. Decent thrills, sure, but any real character depth this story once had was squandered years ago. Now we endlessly retread familiar ground without expanding on anything meaningful.

There's no such thing as objectivity in a film review that's dependant on subjective viewpoints. You could argue there's some barometers one should analyze, but again, it's all subjective, there's no all seeing objective truth in art criticism.
Blue Heron is an intimate, raw explosion of grief, loss, and a meditation on memory and how imperfectly we reconstruct the past. The narrative gut punch halfway through is both ambitious and deeply affecting, retroactively reframing everything that came before. Truly inspired.
