"kelinci percobaan" / bahan uji coba / wajah utama (poster child) untuk kategori "Asian Pop Performance."
Mereka ingin melegitimasi hal itu sebagai situasi yang "saling menguntungkan" bagi BTS sekaligus sebagai bentuk pemisahan (segregasi) artis-artis Asia oleh pihak Academy.
Yang tidak mereka duga adalah bahwa BTS memiliki harga diri dan rasa percaya diri. Mereka mengira BTS akan sangat putus asa mencari pengakuan dari Barat atau Grammy.
