@howss1toknow The 2nd episode I felt like was moving too fast, even for a long time fan of the books every scene was jam packed with details and exposition. I wish we had more time at camp exploring Percy's relationship with the campers and how he adjusts, and we moved on to the quest next ep.
@howss1toknow I agree!! The first two episodes were really good, not perfect as a lot of people claim, but then again which series has perfect episodes? I loved the first episode for setting the tone, Sally was hands down my favourite, what I didn't like was how they watered down Gabe.
@PerseusJackssn Virginia Kull is amazing as Sally. You can tell she's been doing her best to balance the whole world on her shoulders, but is still trying to figure it out as she goes.
Jason Mantzoukas balances Mr. D's fratty behavior while having the aura of a god really well
praising some of the actors (spoiler free)
Aryan has managed to breathe new life into a character that has gone overlooked for years. He has managed to add a personality to this character that makes you want to squeeze and hug him and tell him everything’s going to be okay. the talent is amazing.
Charlies version of Luke is spot on. He’s a brother. He’s a friend. He’s here to help you get through camp and figure out what you’re good at, what makes you thrive. Of course he is. He’s the camps big brother, isn’t he?
Leah’s annabeth is all about the expressions. You can SEE the wisdom in her eyes. The wonder. The faces she makes when Percy’s talking, her posture. Her tone of voice. She captures the essence of annabeth down to every microscopic detail. It’s very impressive when an actor can do more than convince you with their words.
Walker… man i really don’t even know where to begin. I didn’t expect his performance to make my heart ache. Like genuinely he is so good at making me feel what the characters feeling. He is the embodiment of percy.
gabe felt off to me though. FOR NOW he doesn’t seem as bad as the books portray him. him being a terrible person is extremely important plot-wise. but then, we can read percy’s thoughts in the books/have access to his memories so maybe that’s why he’s different?
@caspertk If it is anything like your corona choir project and maybe has an accompanying communal space like a Facebook group for people to share their thoughts and their singing along if they want I think it'd be great!
I want poets and care assistants and crossing guards to be paid top salaries and oil executives to gently nurse baby birds back to health and economic policy to be decided by a citizens assembly and every house to be blessed by a homemade cake from its neighbor
