From March 25 to 27, we held the 1st NEXUS Japan-Vietnam Joint Workshop on Next-Generation Semiconductor Thin-Film Technologies in collaboration with VNU University of Science. We had a very productive time, featuring invited lectures by leading researchers and discussions.
In the Organic Electronics Laboratory, seven master’s students and two doctoral students will graduate this spring.
To celebrate their graduation, we held a farewell party in Namba again this year.
We wish them all the best in their future endeavors.

On 25th Nov., the “Mid-Term Student Research Evaluation meeting 2025” of the Materials Science Divisioin was held as the largest research report meeting of doctoral students. Mr. ONTORIA AIAN BRIONES (2nd year doctoral course, Lab for Organic Electronics), Mr. REN KOJIMA (2nd year doctoral course, Nanomaterials and Polymer Chemistry Lab), and Mrs. EMI KURNIA SARI (2nd year doctoral course, Bio-Process Engineering Lab) were selected as the best three oral presenters.

Karlsruhe Institute of Technology student Mr. Jonas Risinger will be staying for about half a year for a research internship. We had a welcome barbecue party last night.

The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences has decided to award the 2025 #NobelPrize in Physics to John Clarke, Michel H. Devoret and John M. Martinis “for the discovery of macroscopic quantum mechanical tunnelling and energy quantisation in an electric circuit.”
The Giant Seebeck effect we discovered shows a Seebeck coefficient that is two orders of magnitude larger than predicted by conventional physical theory. Among these, the value of −239 mV/K obtained from the Ph3-BTF single crystal is the highest value to date.

It was known in the CNT community that polyoxyethylene stearyl ether “sometimes” introduces n-type doping when used as a dispersant. This work clarified the doping mechanism and necessary temperature conditions.
