$14 an hour was good pay when rent for a 2 bedroom was $600 a month. That was *checks notes* 20 years ago. Rental averages for a 2 bedroom in Texas are closer to $1100 a month now. You're consistently in a state of underpayment & counting minimal increases as good wages.
